How to buy wheelchair batteries?

Buying replacement batteries for your wheelchair or scooter can be critical for the life of the batteries. Most of the wheelchairs use two 12V batteries. Depending upon the size of the wheelchairs the capacity of the batteries will change. The voltage of the two batteries have to match with in 100 mV and the batteries should be from the same date code meaning manufactured during the same batch. If the voltages of the batteries are very different then the life of the combined battery system will be seriously affected. At battery consulting they match the voltages of the batteries before shipment to ensure longer life during the application.

Gel or AGM

Sealed lead acid batteries have sulfuric acid as electrolyte.

In Gel batteries the electrolyte is stored in the form of Gel where as in AGM batteries it is stored in Absorbed Glass Mat.

Wheelchair batteries use both AGM and Gel batteries. Gel batteries are slightly more expensive than AGM batteries.

Performance wise both batteries are similar. For more information and to buy quality wheelchair batteries visit Battery Consulting.
